Acknowledge Your Instincts.

A Miami-based boutique creative studio operating as a creative powerhouse — principal-led, bench-deep, and unafraid to push back. Working with B-Corps, NGOs, social businesses, journalism, speakers, and mission-aligned B2B clients across the United States and Latin America.

Principal-led. Bench-deep. Unafraid to push back.

4to Studio LLC is a Miami-based boutique creative studio founded in 2013 by Creative Director David A. León Contreras. The studio operates at the intersection of purpose-driven organisations and institutional B2B work — building brands, websites, mobile apps, e-commerce storefronts, and content systems for clients across the United States and Latin America.

4to Studio is principal-led by design: every engagement runs directly through David, with a distributed bench of specialist collaborators in Miami, Quito, Buenos Aires, Madrid, Medellín, Washington DC, and Valencia activated per project. The studio is known for its three-tier IP framework that gives clients legal clarity from day one, and its Brand Guardianship retainer — a post-delivery practice that treats a brand as an active commercial asset rather than a delivered PDF.

"Most boutique clients do not know who owns the work they commission. That is not their failure — it is the failure of an industry that learned to leave the question vague on purpose. A brand is a legal and commercial asset. Its ownership should be settled on day one, in writing, at three clear tiers."

— David A. León Contreras · Creative Director, 4to Studio LLC

Every media moment maps to a pillar.

Every 4to Studio media engagement maps to at least one of three narrative pillars. Each has a named position, a named antagonist — something to push against editorially — and a named audience. The pillars are a triangle, not a hierarchy. Strong coverage typically activates two or more at once.

The Honest Studio

“We tell clients what they don’t want to hear.”

Most creative agencies optimise for client comfort. 4to Studio operates on the opposite principle — every engagement runs directly through David as Creative Director. When a strategy is wrong, the studio says so, in writing, early, with reasoning.

Antagonist
Agency diplomacy. Yes-culture. AI tools positioned as consultants. The industry drift toward client-pleasing output.

Audience
Founders and CMOs tired of agency diplomacy. People who pay a premium for judgement, not execution.

How?

The Brand Custodian

“After delivery, we stand watch.”

The dominant creative-services model is deliver-and-vanish. 4to Studio treats the brand as a living commercial asset requiring active custodianship — legally, operationally, and creatively, expressed through a three-tier IP licensing framework and ongoing Brand Guardianship retainer.

Antagonist
The deliver-and-vanish model. The PDF-of-guidelines that nobody opens. Ambiguous IP ownership.

Audience
Operators whose brand is core to their commercial value. B-Corp founders. B2B leaders who understand brand as legal infrastructure.

why?

For Those Who Take Risk
“We work with leaders who want to stand apart, not fit in.”

Category convention is the slow death of boutique brands. 4to Studio’s tagline — “Acknowledge Your Instincts” — is an operational instruction: follow the creative conviction that makes a brand distinct, even when the easier decision is the conventional one.

Antagonist
Safe category-convention design. Committee creative. The AI-slop tier of branding where provenance collapses into sameness.

Audience
Independent operators escaping category convention. B-Corp and mission-led founders. Startups and B2B category creators.

who?

David A. León

Creative Director & Principal — 4to Studio LLC

Venezuelan-born and Miami-based, David has spent the past fifteen years boosting and building brands, visual identity systems, and content production across the United States and Latin America. He started 4to Studio back in 2013 in Venezuela, then  moved and founded the business in US on a deliberately principal-led model — every engagement runs directly through him, with a distributed bench of specialist collaborators activated per project.

He works in English and Spanish, and speaks publicly on intellectual property in creative work, the use of AI as a tool rather than a consultant, and the discipline of trained instinct as a creative faculty.

On IP Ownership

Intellectual property in brand work should be settled in writing, on day one, at three clear tiers: limited licence, exclusive licence, full copyright assignment.

On AI in Practice
AI is a tool to be used by trained judgement — not a substitute for it. The studio uses AI every day. It does not let it pretend to be a consultant.

On Latin American Talent

The strongest specialist creative talent of the past decade has come out of Quito, Santiago, Buenos Aires, and Medellín — making geography a creative asset, not a logistical compromise.

Let's make this story worth telling.
